Two-Ways Tipton can't decide if he wants to phase out Social Security and Medicare

THEN:
During the Republican primary, Scott Tipton stated he believed that Medicare and Social Security should be phased out.

Pueblo Chieftain, July 11, 2010: "Tipton believes Medicare and Social Security will have to be phased out as their unfunded obligations grow."

Colorado Political Blog Perlstalker, May 8, 2010: "Tipton Offered A Plan For Eliminating The Programs [Social Security And Medicare] As They Currently Exist: "His big concern was with the unfunded and debt ridden entitlements, Social Security and Medicare. (Medicaid, he claims, will take care of itself as people get back into jobs.) He offered a plan for eliminating the programs as they currently exist."

Durango Herald, August 12, 2006: "The Social Security system must be overhauled, but Tipton wants to look at all the options. "I'll fight to get people who are owed Social Security all they have coming, but we have an obligation to our children and our grandchildren," Tipton said. "We have to be willing to discuss issues and put privatization on the table."

NOW: For the general election, Tipton has backed off his claims. Scott says NOW that he supports both federal programs, and was reported by the Durango Herald and the Pueblo Chieftain that he never said he wanted the programs phased out.

Even Scott's own website says he opposes privatizing Social Security.

Two-ways Tipton ought to stop two-timing Colorado voters. He can't say one thing during a primary election and change his record later in an attempt to deceive voters before November. Coloradans needs a straighter shooter than that.
