Sign my open letter to Colorado insurance companies

To Whom It May Concern:

Last year, Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to make it easier for working families and small businesses to find the health care coverage options that are right for them so they can get the care they need.

The bill prevents discrimination against people with pre-existing conditions, strengthens rural health care by growing the number of rural doctors, and closes the "doughnut hole" gap in Medicare prescription drug coverage for seniors.

During the debate, the insurance industry came to the negotiating table and pledged to cover children with pre-existing conditions. Now we've learned that many companies are breaking their word and dropping "child-only" plans to skirt their obligation to Colorado's kids.

This is unacceptable and we ask that you reconsider this decision. Leaving children without coverage when they need it most isn't just bad for business and it's also morally wrong.

Sincerely,

John Salazar and the undersigned:
